MechVib, the Mechanics and Vibrations Research Group has a well-established research activity in the field of dynamic modelling of mechanical systems, model validation, advanced vibro-acoustic measurements and digital signal processing for monitoring and diagnostics.

The group is equipped with up-to-date measurement and analysis instrumentation including several multi-channel data acquisition systems, shaker facilities for on-board modal analysis and a large network of workstations with licenses for all major CAE software for acoustic and dynamic/vibration analysis.

Research areas

Mechanics of Machines, Mechanical Vibrations, Noise Vibrations and Harshness (NVH), Experimental vibration analysis, Dynamic numerical analysis, Condition Monitoring, Diagnostics of machines based on vibro-acoustical analysis, Mechanism and Machine Theory, Mechanics of Robots, Biomechanics.
